England, Sri Lanka to hold minute's silence for Australia's late Phil Hughes

England and Sri Lanka will pay their respects to Australia batsman Phil Hughes by holding a minute's silence prior to their second ODI on Saturday.

England and Sri Lanka will reportedly hold a minute's silence for the late Australia batsman Phil Hughes on Saturday prior to their second one-day international in Colombo.

The world of cricket has been left in shock after Hughes lost his life today at the age of 25 after failing to recover from serious head injuries.

The batsman suffered rare vertebral artery dissection after he was struck on the neck by a bouncer bowled by Sean Abbott during a Sheffield Shield match in Sydney on Tuesday.

Following the tragic news, the England and Sri Lankan players have decided to line up for a minute's silence to pay their respects in Colombo, according to BBC Sport.

England suffered a 25-run defeat to Sri Lanka in their opening ODI on Wednesday.
