90 Day Fiance season two star Jason Hitch dies at the age of 45 after catching coronavirus.

90 Day Fiance's Jason Hitch has died after catching coronavirus, it has been announced.

The 45-year-old appeared on season two of the hugely-popular series, with cameras documenting his engagement and marriage to Cassia Tavares, a Brazilian woman 15 years his junior.

According to TMZ, Hitch, who was unvaccinated, died in hospital in Florida on Tuesday with his family at his side.

Tavares, who divorced Hitch in 2018, wrote on Instagram: "It's always sad when someone you spent part of your life with stops breathing.

"I guess one could never be prepared for that. I wasn't, today. When I started receiving messages, I thought it was a joke. I'm shocked.

"My condolences to his family and friends. Rest In Peace, Jason."

A spokesperson for broadcaster TLC said: "We are saddened to hear about the passing of Jason Hitch and send our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this time."
