Barbara Knox, Bill Roache return to Coronation Street filming

Coronation Street veterans Bill Roache and Barbara Knox return to the soap to film scenes for the 60th anniversary episodes.

Coronation Street legends Barbara Knox and Bill Roache are back filming on the soap for the first time since March.

After over two months of coronavirus-enforced shutdown, production on Corrie resumed in June but older cast members - as well as those with underlying health conditions - were initially kept away from set.

A post on the show's official Twitter account today showed a picture of Knox, 87, and Roache, 88, filming a scene for the upcoming 60th anniversary episodes.

"Here's some good news to put a smile on your faces!" the tweet read.

"Coronation Street legends William Roache and Barbara Knox are back filming on the cobbles this week!

"Who's excited to see their return ahead of our 60th Anniversary celebrations?"

The special episodes, which are said to have a "community"-based storyline, are due to air in early December.
