Kate Garraway to present ITV programme on husband's coronavirus battle

ITV announces details of a one-off programme following Kate Garraway as she copes with her husband's battle with coronavirus.

ITV has announced details of a one-off programme documenting Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper's horrific battle with coronavirus.

Draper, an author and former adviser for the Labour Party, was hospitalised with a coronavirus a year ago and still remains in intensive care in a minimal state of consciousness.

Although he survived the disease, it left his body completely ravaged and as a result he is still severely ill with multiple ailments.

The programme Kate Garraway: Finding Derek will follow the Good Morning Britain presenter as she reflects on a year from hell, meets other families in similar circumstances and investigates the longer-term effects of COVID-19.

The show will air in a primetime slot as part of ITV's spring schedules.
