Get to know MasterChef 2024 contestant Louise, including their age, profession and hopes for the competition.

Age: 36

From: London

Occupation: Administration officer for an art college

Cooking Style: "When I was younger my mum always took me to really nice restaurants and my love of food grew from there. My heritage is Jamaican but I am also British so I combine the two in my cooking. I also love making desert and baking. There are so many influences on my style, from my parents, to chefs like as Shanice Bryce, Riaz Phillips and Andi Oliver."

Why MasterChef?: "Having my children changed everything. When I look at them I'm inspired to keep pushing for what I want. I entered MasterChef to follow my love of cooking and because my daughter told me to! I never in a million years thought anything would come of it."

Ambition: "My dream is to work in food development or to write recipes for food magazines or newspapers."

MasterChef continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
