Mr Motivator returns for new coronavirus health show

'90s fitness guru Mr Motivator is to make a TV return for a new daily fitness show on the BBC.

1990s TV fitness guru Mr Motivator is to make a comeback in a new daily BBC health show designed to help viewers stay fit during the coronavirus lockdown.

HealthCheck UK Live will air weekdays at 10am for a fortnight starting Monday and promises to "directly address the concerns of viewers who are in isolation, offering tips on how to keep healthy and happy at home".

Mr Motivator - real name Derrick Evans - rose to fame in the '90s with regular appearances on GMTV, which saw him demonstrate energetic fitness routines while wearing a fluorescent leotard.

In a statement, Mr Motivator said: "Now more than ever it is important to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Everybody say yeah, let's get happy and be wicked at home!"

Motivator will be part of a four-strong presenting team on the show, joining Michelle Ackerley, Dr Xand van Tulleken and veteran broadcaster Angela Rippon.
