James Whale reveals he has just months to live
James Whale shares the devastating news that he will die within a few months as his cancer has become terminal.

Talk radio legend James Whale has shared the devastating news that he has just a few months to live.

The 71-year-old - presenter on talkRADIO and TalkTV - previously overcame kidney cancer in 2000 but two years ago revealed that his cancer had returned, spreading to his kidney, lungs, spine and brain.

Giving a speech at the British Curry Awards in London on Monday night, he told the audience: "I know a lot of you won't like me, but this time next year I won't be here. I have terminal cancer.

"As you might be able to hear, I am having chemotherapy which makes it harder for me to breathe, but I'm OK. Don't worry.

"I am in my 70s now and I just want to say don't waste your time on stupid things that don't matter. 25 years later I've got it again.

"I'm 71 and I've had a great life."

Broadcast in the '80s, The James Whale Radio Show is widely credited for inspiring the talk radio genre. Together with Ash Gould, he currently presents the key 7pm to 10pm slot on talkRADIO.
