James 'Arg' Argent reveals that he is losing weight at the rate of a stone a week.

Former TOWIE star James Argent has revealed that he is losing weight at the rate of a stone a week since his gastric surgery.

The 33-year-old had the life-saving operation earlier this month after his weight soared past 27 stone, with doctors warning him that he needed to lose weight fast to avoid the risk of a premature death.

Since having a gastric sleeve fitted, Arg has lost 2-1/2 stone in 2-1/2 weeks and remains on a liquid diet for the time being as his body readjusts.

"I'm so pleased sitting here today, two-and-a-half weeks after the operation," he said during an appearance on Tuesday's Loose Women.

"Weight is coming off each and every day. I'm feeling happier and healthier. I'm starting to feel like my old self again, this is really going to be a positive new chapter for me.

"Since I started the pre-op diet before the surgery. I've lost already two-and-a-half stones, which is a great start. I'm starting to recognise myself in the mirror again, my looks are coming back. "

Arg has previously admitted to being a recovering cocaine addict but started to turn his life around after attending an intensive boot camp in Thailand last year.
