A TV audience in excess of 26 million viewers tune in to see England book their place in the Euro 2020 final.

ITV's coverage of England's Euro 2020 triumph over Denmark peaked with a TV audience of 26.25m last night, according to early figures.

The Three Lions were pushed all the way by the Danes, with Harry Kane eventually settling the tie in England's favour during extra time.

The peak audience came at 10.35pm as the match ended, with an astonishing 89.2% of the available audience watching at the time.

Furthermore, figures for ITV Hub released by ITV pushed the combined peak up to 27.6m, setting records as the most-watched match ever on a single UK channel.

Overall, ITV's coverage of the game averaged 16.78m (70.7%) between 6.30pm and 11.25pm, with the whistle to whistle period averaging 23.86m (82.2%).

The ratings figures do not include the many millions watching the game in pubs, clubs, fan zones and other non-household settings.
