Josep Maria Bartomeu rules out Barcelona return for Neymar

President Josep Maria Bartomeu suggests that Barcelona are not in a position to secure a reunion with Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu has suggested that there is little chance of Neymar leaving Paris Saint-Germain for Barcelona in the foreseeable future.

Throughout his three-year spell at Parc des Princes, Neymar has continually been linked with a return to Camp Nou.

However, at a time when Barcelona were already needing to balance the books, it appears that the coronavirus pandemic has ended any hopes of the Brazilian representing the Catalan outfit for a second time.

Speaking to Sport, Bartomeu said: "It's not viable in this situation. PSG don't want to sell him either, which is normal because he's one of the best players in the world.

"We tried very hard last summer, but this year there won't be an attempt."

Despite the attacker having just two years left on his contract, PSG have maintained that the 28-year-old will not be leaving this summer.

Neymar has scored a total of 70 goals from 79 outings for the Ligue 1 champions in all competitions.
