Malky Mackay hails new Cardiff City signing Kim Bo-Kyung

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has hailed the arrival of Kim Bo-Kyung, claiming that the attacking midfielder can be "special".

The Championship side completed the signing of the South Korea international from J-League club Cerezo Osaka last week on a three-year contract.

The 22-year-old is rated as one of the better Asian footballers and has been compared to compatriot and former Manchester United star Park Ji-Sung.

Mackay is delighted to have acquired Kim and believes that the Korean will prove his class.

"This one is really exciting. Kim is going to be the next big thing out of South Korea and will win many international caps for his country," Mackay told Wales Online. "He has the potential to be something special."

"There was strong interest from others and a Premier League club stepped in last week but the player had already committed to Cardiff by then and we were absolutely delighted by that.

"We have had strong recommendations from our contacts in South Korea, including an English coach, because Kim is an up-and-coming force."

Cardiff have also signed Jordan Mutch, Joe Lewis and Etien Velikonja in an effort to gain promotion to the Premier League.
