Paolo Di Canio warns Antonio Conte about English media

Paolo Di Canio advises Chelsea managerial target Antonio Conte to be careful how he conducts himself around the British press.

Paolo Di Canio has offered words of advice to former Juventus teammate Antonio Conte, amid rumours that the Italy boss is taking over at Chelsea this summer.

The Italian warned his compatriot to watch his tongue around the British media, and suggested that he learn the English language as quickly as possible.

"I tell him, 'be careful of the media', because if you start talking like me, they say, 'ah he's Italian, he's too theatrical, too much, he's screaming'," Di Canio told reporters.

"I am joking! But I say be careful, try to learn the English mentality straight away. Sometimes words put into a sentence come out differently.

"Sometimes you can have the stamp of the donkey because you say something you didn't intend. So try to learn [the language] and put next to you a good guy, an English guy, with good experience that can help you."

Guus Hiddink is in charge at Chelsea until the end of the season, with the club yet to officially confirm Conte as his successor.
