Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will allegedly be the first to leave Chelsea after the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will allegedly be the first player to leave Chelsea now that the season has reached its conclusion.

Last summer, the forward was signed by Thomas Tuchel, who had previously worked with him at Borussia Dortmund, and there were high expectations of a productive spell.

However, Tuchel was sacked a week later and Chelsea have rarely seen the best of the Gabon international, aside from his performances in the Champions League group stages.

The 33-year-old has contributed just three goals and two assists from 11 starts and 10 substitute outings, many of which came during the period before the World Cup.

Aubameyang dropped down the pecking order under Graham Potter and remained there for much of Frank Lampard's short reign, not featuring since May 2.

With a new head coach in Mauricio Pochettino being appointed on Monday, there has been a short possibility of Aubameyang being handed another chance at the West Londoners.

According to the Evening Standard, that will not be the case with Pochettino keen for Chelsea to get the player off the wage bill.

The Premier League giants are said to be willing to accept a small fee for the veteran in order to reducing their outgoings as soon as possible.

A return to Barcelona has been suggested in the past, yet the report claims that a number of clubs from Saudi Arabia are contemplating whether to make an approach.

Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are also reportedly monitoring the situation, aware that Chelsea will not need convincing to part ways with a big earner.

The financial situation at the Blues has been well-documented with cutbacks and sales needing to be made by June 30 before they submit their accounts for this season.

A wide array of other players are also being linked with a transfer elsewhere with activity expected to occur over the coming weeks.

Most notably, Chelsea could cash in on Mason Mount at a time when the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the £55m-rated playmaker.
