Nike 'could help Liverpool sign Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe'

A report claims that Nike see huge value in Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe signing for Liverpool and could help fund a transfer.

Liverpool may reportedly be given a helping hand by sportswear giant Nike in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

The France international has long been considered a dream target for the Reds after previously praising the club for their style of play under Jurgen Klopp.

Mbappe is under contract at the Parc des Princes for another 16 months, though talks are ongoing over extending those terms.

According to the Liverpool Echo, however, the Premier League champions have not given up hope of landing the 22-year-old.

It is claimed that Nike's partnership with Liverpool and Mbappe could help fund a deal, with the American multinational corporation seeing huge value in bringing the two together.

Nike earn around 20% from Liverpool on the sale of licensed merchandise, which could see them bring in well over £75m a year if Mbappe were to join Liverpool.

Another of Nike's major clients, basketball legend LeBron James, owns a small stake in Liverpool and may also play a part in brokering a deal.
