Wayne Rooney dismayed by Manchester United defeat

Wayne Rooney claims that Manchester United's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool ranks among his worst days ever in football.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has claimed that his team's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool ranks among his worst days ever in football.

The Red Devils were dismantled at Old Trafford on Sunday as they suffered their ninth loss of the season in the Premier League.

"It's one of the worst days I've ever had in football," Rooney told MUTV. "It's hard to take. You have to give Liverpool credit - they played well - but it's difficult to take.

"Nobody wants to lose, especially in this way, in your own stadium. It's not nice."

The result has seen United remain in seventh place in the Premier League table, 18 points behind leaders Chelsea.
