There has been a suggestion that a transfer could be completed within the next 48 hours, and it has now been claimed that Lukaku could have played a factor in the progression of negotiations.

According to the Daily Mail, the forward has been in contact with his former United teammate after parting ways with the Premier League giants in recent weeks.

The report says that the Belgium international has been in frequent dialogue with his fellow attacker in a bid to speed up discussions behind the scenes.

United are allegedly prepared to pay a portion of Sanchez's wages in order to push through a deal.
