Paul Pogba's brother issues warning to Manchester United over midfielder's future

Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United on a free transfer next year if he is not granted a move in the summer, according to the midfielder's brother Mathias.

Manchester United have been warned by Paul Pogba's brother that they must sell the midfielder this summer if they hope to recoup any money.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola made clear in December that the France international has no intention of signing a new deal at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old has 16 months to run on his contract and is a rumoured target for Real Madrid and former side Juventus.

Pogba's performances have improved hugely in recent weeks, offering hope that he could be persuaded to agree a contract extension, but brother Mathias does not believe that will be the case.

"He is happy. He is improving his game," he told El Chiringuito. "He has a year left on his contract. I don't know [if he will stay until then]. I can't help you right now.

"The only thing I can say is if United want money, they have to sell him now. That's the only thing I can say. If not, he'll go for free. I haven't heard anything about him renewing his contract."

Pogba, an £89m signing from Juventus in 2016, has scored twice in his last five appearances for United.
