Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to accept a world-record €300m (£259.3m) bid from Al-Hilal for star forward Kylian Mbappe.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to accept a world-record €300m (£259.3m) bid from Al-Hilal for star forward Kylian Mbappe.

The 24-year-old, widely regarded as one of the best players in world football, is facing an uncertain future at the Parc des Princes as he has entered the final year of his contract.

PSG were left stunned earlier this month when Mbappe handed in a letter confirming that he has no intention of activating the extension to his contract until 2025, allowing him to depart the French giants for free in the summer of 2024.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has since stated that Mbappe would need to sign a new deal or the Ligue 1 champions will look to sell the forward this summer.

However, Mbappe appears to have no desire to pen fresh terms with PSG, who have allegedly placed him on the transfer list after he was left out of Luis Enrique's travelling squad for their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.

Mbappe has been widely tipped to secure his dream move to Real Madrid, and one report claims that PSG believe that the France international has already agreed to join the Spanish giants.

A number of other European clubs have also been credited with an interest, including Premier League quartet Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, while Sky Sports News claims that Tottenham Hotspur have also entered the race.

A recent report claims that Liverpool are preparing a 'monumental bid' to sign Mbappe, while Chelsea are also understood to be weighing up an opening offer.

However, the English giants could be thwarted by the riches of Saudi Arabia, as journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Al-Hilal have tabled a mind-boggling world-record offer of €300m (£259.3m) to sign Mbappe this summer.

Romano adds that PSG are expected to accept the offer, but no talks have taken place with the forward, who is set to be offered a world-record salary by Al-Hilal.

PSG could make a substantial profit on Mbappe, who cost around €180m (£155m) from Monaco in 2018, while the forward's proposed move to Al-Hilal would smash the existing world-record €222m (£191m) that the French giants forked out on Neymar in 2017.

Ah-Hilal are one of four clubs that were taken over by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund last month and they have already splashed the cash this summer, recruiting Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly from Europe.

Their next marquee target is Mbappe, who is PSG's all-time leading goalscorer after finding the net 212 times in 260 appearances across all competitions over the last six seasons, including 41 goals in 43 games last season.

The Frenchman has won 12 trophies with PSG including five Ligue 1 titles, and the 2018 World Cup winner has also won a plethora of individual accolades including four Ligue 1 Player of the Year awards.

The potential departure of Mbappe could see PSG step up their interest in attacking targets such as Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic, Tottenham's Harry Kane and Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani.
