Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Rodrygo remains "very important" to Real Madrid amid interest from Manchester City and Liverpool.

Rodrygo has seen his future become the subject of much speculation despite having a contract until the summer of 2028.

Kylian Mbappe's imminent arrival has led to some doubts as to whether Rodrygo will have a place in the starting lineup next season.

Ancelotti could decide to utilise Mbappe and Vinicius Junior in a forward pairing, or switch to a front three to accommodate Rodrygo.

Crystal Palace transfers: Is Glasner planning for life without key quartet?

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner waves to fans after the match on May 19, 2024
    © Reuters

Crystal Palace seemed to hit a bit of a rut towards the end of Roy Hodgson's reign and they were in danger of slipping into the relegation picture following a run of just three wins in 17 Premier League games.

The Selhurst Park faithful were disillusioned and concerned about the club's direction, emphasised by several banners displayed at home and away fixtures attacking the Eagles owners.

However, those concerns quickly evaporated following the arrival of Oliver Glasner in mid-February. The Austrian tactician has made a huge impact in his first 13 games in charge, not only galvanising the club's supporters, but also instilling a tried-and-tested playing style, used throughout his managerial career, that his Palace players have adjusted to in a matter of months.

Palace were languishing in 16th place and just five points above the relegation zone when Glasner took charge, but a run of six wins and one draw in their final seven matches - scoring 21 goals in the process - helped the Eagles soar into the top 10, finishing 23 points clear of the bottom three.

Chelsea's Lukaku 'set for Conte reunion in Serie A'

Roma's Romelu Lukaku celebrates scoring their first goal on December 14, 2023

Napoli-bound Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in a reunion with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

Conte is seemingly on the verge of returning to football management for the first time since leaving his position as Tottenham Hotspur boss in March 2023.

The 54-year-old is widely expected to take over the reins at Napoli, having allegedly reached an agreement over a three-year deal.

The Italian will be tasked with sparking an upturn in fortunes following a disastrous campaign for the 2022-23 Serie A champions.

Liverpool 27-year-olds 'emerge as Saudi Arabia transfer targets'

Two more Liverpool players have reportedly been added to the Saudi Pro League's transfer shortlist for the summer of 2025.

The Reds have already seen some of their stars of yesterday jump ship for the Middle East in recent times, namely Fabinho (Al-Ittihad), Jordan Henderson (Al-Ettifaq) and Roberto Firmino (Al-Ahli).

However, the Public Investment Fund-backed sides have always had their eye on a blockbuster move for Mohamed Salah, whom Al-Ittihad failed to sign with a £150m bid in the summer of 2023.

While the Saudi Pro League will not give up on trying to prise Salah away from Liverpool, the Egypt international is expected to remain with the Merseyside giants for at least one more season, although his contract is up in the summer of 2025.

Man City 'plotting audacious move for key Real Madrid man'

Real Madrid's Rodrygo celebrates scoring against Athletic Bilbao on March 31, 2024
    © Reuters

Manchester City are reportedly plotting an ambitious swoop for one of Carlo Ancelotti's integral Real Madrid players this summer.

Forming an effective two-man strikeforce with compatriot Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo has had a direct hand in 26 goals in 50 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.

The 23-year-old has struck 17 goals of his own in addition to providing nine assists, despite admitting that he is not a fan of playing in a central role, preferring the wide areas instead.

Rodrygo's contributions include five goals and three assists in 12 Champions League matches, and he is expected to get the nod to start Saturday's tantalising final against Borussia Dortmund.

A Premier League midfielder thought to be on the radar of Arsenal and Manchester United has revealed that he 'strives' to play for a "top club" in the future.

Making a name for himself during his one season with Lille in 2021-22, Amadou Onana arrived at Everton in a £29.9m deal that summer and has gone from strength to strength in the Premier League.

Excelling in a deep midfield position, the Belgium international has conjured up four goals and three assists in 72 games for the Toffees, playing an integral role in helping the club retain their perpetual Premier League status.

The 2023-24 season saw Onana register three goals and set up one more in 37 games, and the Everton man will represent his country at Euro 2024 barring any late injury setbacks.

Man United 'consider extending contract of unwanted attacker'

Mason Greenwood arrives in court in November 2022
    © Reuters

Manchester United are reportedly considering extending the contract of one of their unwanted attackers in order to aid their efforts of selling him for a high fee.

Mason Greenwood has not appeared for the Red Devils since January 2022, the same month that he was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault after he was named in online allegations.

The one-cap England international was further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill, leading to Man United immediately suspending him after he was released on bail.

Several months on from his initial arrest, Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and was due to go on trial in November 2023.

Celtic 'step up pursuit of 26-year-old Man United man'

    © Reuters

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have apparently stepped up their interest in signing an out-of-favour Manchester United man.

Turkey international Altay Bayindir was one of two new shot-stoppers to arrive at Old Trafford for the 2023-24 season, joining the Red Devils from Fenerbache on a four-year deal with the option of a fifth.

Bayindir joined at the same time as Inter Milan's Champions League finalist Andre Onana, who immediately inherited the number one jersey at the Theatre of Dreams following David de Gea's exit on a free transfer.

Bayindir was therefore aware that he would be playing second fiddle to Onana, with the potential for appearances in cup competitions, but Erik ten Hag barely gave him a look-in whatsoever last season.

Arsenal 'earmark injured left-back' as Oleksandr Zinchenko replacement

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to join the race for Feyenoord left-back Quilindschy Hartman when the Dutchman returns from injury next season.

Hartman came through the Feyenoord academy and was part of the 2022-23 Eredivisie-winning squad. He also won the KNVB Cup last season, although he missed the final due to knee surgery.

Over the past two seasons, the 22-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Dutch giants, having made his breakthrough under Arne Slot, who is now the manager of Liverpool.

The Dutchman suffered a serious knee injury in March and missed the remainder of the season. His injury also prevented him from being selected for the European Championship this summer.
