Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly prepare to go head to head for the signature of Paris Saint-German attacker Neymar.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will reportedly go head to head for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar in the final weeks of the Spanish transfer window.

The Brazil international continues to be strongly linked with a move away from PSG, having allegedly made it clear that he no longer wants to turn out for the French champions.

Barca have been credited with an interest throughout the summer, while Madrid are said to have joined the hunt in recent days after admitting defeat in their pursuit of Manchester United's Paul Pogba.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are determined to sign their former player before the transfer deadline, but Madrid will also fight for the South American's signature in the coming weeks.

La Liga clubs have until September 2 to complete their summer business, meaning that there is no immediate rush when it comes to the 27-year-old.

Neymar hardly played in the latter stages of the 2018-19 campaign due to a foot injury before being ruled out of Brazil's Copa America campaign with an ankle issue.

However, the left-sided attacker, who has a contract at the Parc des Princes until June 2022, is available for PSG's Ligue 1 opener against Nimes on Sunday night.
