Michael Schumacher's accident not caused by safety breaches

French investigators reveal that Michael Schumacher's accident was not caused by safety breaches.

French investigators have confirmed that safety breaches did not contribute to Michael Schumacher's accident.

The seven-time Formula 1 champion has been in Grenoble University Hospital since he hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29.

According to The Telegraph, prosecutor Patrick Quincy said in a statement: "There were no [safety] breaches by anybody. The accident occurred in an off-piste zone."

There were suggestions that the ski resort of Meribel could be culpable for the accident, but French investigators have insisted that the resort "conformed to current French laws."

It has been revealed that Schumacher, who was wearing a camera attached to his helmet to record him and his son skiing, smashed his head on a rock that was 4.5 metres away from the authorised slopes.

The F1 legend is currently in the waking-up process from an induced coma.
