Ashley Barnes and Andre Gray score in either half to help Burnley to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Burnley have finally got off the mark with their first away win of the season thanks to a 2-0 triumph over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Clarets had lost 13 and drawn four of their previous 17 outings away from Turf Moor since earning promotion back to the Premier League, but they claimed that elusive triumph in their penultimate away game of the season on Saturday evening.

Ashley Barnes found the net early on and Andre Gray made sure of the points in the closing stages, lifting Burnley up to 14th in the table and easing their relegation concerns thanks to just a second win in 12 overall.

Palace started brightly, winning four corners inside the opening two minutes and testing Tom Heaton through an angled Christian Benteke effort.

It was Burnley who opened the scoring, though, as Barnes rounded off a move he started by converting following some good interplay in the final third.

George Boyd blasted over soon after and saw a goal ruled out for offside in the build-up, while Luka Milivojevic snatched at his attempt at the other end of the field.

There was still plenty to play for when Wayne Hennessey kept out Wales international teammate Sam Vokes's downward header, with Milivojevic denied for a second time by Heaton and Damien Delaney also being left frustrated by the Clarets keeper.

A first win at Selhurst Park in 11 attempts was wrapped up by Gray late on, as he rifled home on the counter to end Burnley's away-day hoodoo.
