Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus reportedly intend to relaunch plans for the failed European Super League next week.

The three remaining clubs involved in plans for the European Super League in Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly planning to revive the competition next week.

The trio, along with AC Milan, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and each member of the Premier League's Big Six all announced their intentions to join the breakaway league in April of last year.

However, after players voiced their discontent on social media and amid furious backlash from supporters, clubs began to drop out one by one barely 48 hours after the initial announcements.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus have remained loyal to the project, though, with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez frequently insisting that the 12 founder members could not leave.

Now, The Telegraph claims that Juve president Andrea Agnelli will unveil fresh plans for the ESL on Thursday with several proposed format changes from the failed experiment.

The report adds that a traditional league qualification structure is among the changes planned, but UEFA and the Premier League do not expect the competition to be relaunched.

Supporters protested outside stadiums en masse following the news of the Super League, and clubs were also threatened with expulsions from continental competitions by UEFA.
