Oscar Pistorius's manager: 'Athlete rarely lost his temper'

Oscar Pistorius's manager Peet van Zyl tells the High Court that he rarely saw the Paralympic champion lose his temper.

Oscar Pistorius's manager Peet van Zyl has told the High Court in Pretoria that the Paralympic champion rarely loses his temper.

The double amputee is accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, whom he shot dead through a bathroom door at his home on Valentine's Day last year.

The trial resumed yesterday after a 30-day period of psychiatric testing concluded that the athlete did not have a mental defect when he shot dead the South African model.

Today, Pistorius's manager Van Zyl told the court that he had only witnessed the 27-year-old lose his temper twice, which was when he was accused of cheating when he declared interest in racing against able-bodied athletes.

The prosecution have claimed that Pistorius shot dead his other half after a furious row, but the athlete has denied murder by maintaining that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he fired four shots through the locked door.
