Adam Swift hat-trick sees St Helens through

St Helens are through to the next round of the Super League playoffs after beating Hull Kingston Rovers 46-10 this evening.

St Helens have progressed to the next round of the Super League playoffs with a win over Hull Kingston Rovers.

The visitors were able to stretch the Saints defence early on, as Liam Salter crossed the try line inside the opening five minutes to give Rovers the lead.

However, three tries in the space of six minutes from Francis Meli, Swift and Sia Soliola ensured a swift turnaround for the hosts.

A further three scores ensures that St Helens took a commanding 34-4 lead into half time.

The visitors defended well at the start of the second period, but Lance Hohaia was able to extend St Helens' lead in the 57th minute before Swift completed his hat-trick.

Craig Hall added a late consolation for KR, but is was not enough to stop them being eliminated from the playoffs.
